Milkuri Ramya holds a Master’s degree in Telugu from the University of Hyderabad. She is deeply interested in Telugu literature, folklore, and translation studies, with a particular focus on the relationship between language, culture, and literary expression.
As part of her postgraduate studies, she completed a dissertation titled “Oggu Katha Anuvadam – Anusheelana” , which explores the challenges and possibilities of translating Oggu Katha, a significant folk narrative tradition of Telangana. She also successfully completed the National Translation Mission (NTM) Intensive Translation Training Programme, further strengthening her interest in translation research and practice.
Ramya presented a research paper titled “Challenges in Translating Cultural Depths in Oggu Katha” at a National Seminar organized by Christ College, Rajkot, Gujarat. Her academic interests include Translation Studies, Folklore Studies, Cultural Studies, and Telugu Literary Criticism.
